Thia Walker
Extension Specialist: thia.walker@colostate.eduThia Walker is the Extension Specialist and program manager for the Colorado Environmental Pesticide Education Program (CEPEP) at Colorado State University. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University Wisconsin – Stevens Point, majoring in Biology with a Chemistry minor, and a master’s degree from Colorado State University in Plant Pathology. She operated the Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab at CSU from 1984 to 1988. Since then, Thia has worked for Colorado State University conducting research in Southeast Colorado on Russian Wheat aphid and other emerging insect pests in dryland cropping systems. Thia returned to the main campus at CSU in April 2010 as the Extension Specialist for Pesticide Safety Education. She currently holds a Commercial Pesticide Applicator license in Ag Insects, Ag Weeds, Ag Plant Disease, and Research & Demonstration.

Diane offers up her creative and organizational talents to the CEPEP program as she develops many of the brochures and study guide materials. She oversees the many requests to CEPEP for additional information and media requests. Diane grew up in Wisconsin and has lived in Colorado since 2006. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Applied Human Sciences in 2012. She plans on continuing on in graduate school to earn a Ph.D. She enjoys skiing, reading, and hiking.
