Interview with Prof. Murray

Professor Murray has been a two-time recipient of the John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation Research and Writing Grants for Individuals, for research on the interface of environmental problems and social change in Latin America. He has also been a Fulbright Research Scholar and recipient of several other major research grants related to environmental and social change in Latin America.

Professor Murray also works as an advisor and consultant to international development organizations, governments and non-governmental organizations on pesticide hazard reduction and related development problem-solving.

Professor Murray is currently involved in research in two separate but related areas:

  1. chemical intensive farming and social change in the developing world

  2. the potential and limits of fair and alternative trade in the global economy
