Maureen DeCoursey Maureen DeCoursey – Center Associate and Private Consultant. Ms. DeCoursey (MF, Yale University) is an expert in forest and natural-resource based sustainable development. She brings to CFATS senior-level programming and project management expertise from over 20 countries. Areas of expertise include environment-friendly rural development, small-medium enterprises, the natural products sector, non-timber forest products, fair and alternative trade, community-based conservation, protected areas, sustainable agriculture, and ecotourism.

Mary Littrell Mary Littrell – Center Associate, CFATS and Professor/Department Head of Design and Merchandising. Her research addresses multiple facets of business social responsibility, with special focus on artisan enterprise sustainability and fair trade. She is co-author of Social Responsibility in the Global Market: Fair Trade of Cultural Products and is currently completing a second book on socio-economic impacts of fair trade for an artisan group in Mumbai, India. Her fair trade research is centered in India and Guatemala.

Dimitris Stevis Dimitris Stevis – Center Associate, CFATS and Professor, Department of Political Science. His research and teaching are in the areas of transnational social regulation, with emphases on environment and labor. His ongoing projects include (1) best practices in International Framework Agreements (IFA) between multinational corporations and unions (funded by the International Labor Organization); (2) synergies and tensions between Fair Trade and labor rights strategies across the supply chain with particular focus on IFAs between multinational companies and unions; and (3) labor union and environmentalist collaboration for greening production.

Dawn Thilmany Dawn Thilmany – Center Associate, CFATS and Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Her research focuses on alternative markets for food products through consumer segmentation, defined by the relative importance placed on various product attributes (organic, local, eco-friendly) and their willingness to pay for such assurances. She has completed consumer analyses for natural meats, fresh produce, local wines, agritourism and a variety of foods. In addition, in work at CSU and with the Farm Foundation, she provides a regional and economic development perspective on how alternative food systems may impact communities.
