Conflict

Section 002: Conflict Resolution Interpersonal conflict takes many forms, e.g., marital, parent/child, supervisor/worker, etc., all of which share common properties and operate under universal principles.  This course will examine and demonstrate the strategies that can be employed to resolve them.

Section 3Section 003: Psychology of Sport and Exercise Seminar Psychological theories and principles applied to performance/participation in sport/exercise will be examined as well as correlates between physical and psychological health and sport/exercise involvement.  Students will be exposed to specialty areas within sport psychology and explore gender, age, and culture related to sports/exercise.

Section 004: Intro to Clinical/Counseling Psychology This course will provide an introduction to clinical and counseling procedures utilized in therapy.  Varying  theoretical approaches will be covered and treatment approaches to specific clinical disorders will be discussed.

Section 005: Movies and Mental Health This course will consider elements of abnormal psychology through the perspective of film.  Individual film clips from commercial movies will be used to address mental health issues.

Section 007 Forensic Psychology Examine the psychological perspectives on a range of behaviors such as rape,Forensic stalking, serial murder, multiple personality disorder, psychopathy, and terrorism.  Information on competency to stand trial, jury selection, and an overview of the general principles of profiling will also be covered.

PY327PY 327 Psychological Perspectives on the Female Experience

Introduces issues, dilemmas, and debates in the psychology of women.  Focuses on the female experience and the implications of this experience for female psychology.  Both national and international issues and perspectives are considered.  Students are encouraged to think critically about theories and research.
