The Political Economy
Graduate Interdisciplinary Studies Program (Certificate) harnesses the expertise
of a wide variety of faculty throughout the College of
Liberal Arts allowing students to broaden and deepen
their education and professional experience.
In general, the Certificate will be focusing on questions
of environment, development, theory, and social change,
at both the global and local levels.
The certificate is designed to meet the educational
needs of two groups of people:
1. traditional students who want a political economy
focus, and
2. non-traditional students who are not currently pursuing
a graduate degree
The first group includes regular graduate students enrolled
in traditional Master or Doctoral programs throughout
the University. The second group includes non-traditional
students who want to redirect their career or earn a
more integrated understanding of the various social factors
shaping their line of work.
