Research and selected papers:
Boyd's research interests center on Asian studies. He has published widely on various aspects of Eastern religion including
Satan and Mara (1975),
The Lion and the Dragon (1979),
Guide to Zoroastrian Religion (1982),
A Persian Offering (1991), and
Ritual Art and Knowledge (1993), which he co-authored with Ron Williams. Boyd is a leading expert in the emerging field of Ritual Studies, and he is currently researching Shinto rituals. Boyd's extracurricular interests include music, swimming and travel.
