Research and selected papers:
Williams' scholarly pursuits are varied, including logic philosophy of language, philosophy of science and more recently aesthetics. He is co-author of
Philosophical Analysis (1965) and
Ritual Art and Knowledge (1993), which he wrote with James Boyd. Together with Boyd he is a leading expert in Ritual Studies and he is currently working on the aesthetic dimension of Shinto rituals.
