ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND REQUIREMENTS
A. Of the 32 hours required for the M.A. degree, a minimum of 24 hours must be earned in residence;
B. A restricted number of 300- and 400-level courses may be included as part of the graduate program with approval (adviser and/or Graduate Coordinator);
C. Graduate teaching assistants must enroll for at least 9 hours each semester; at least one course per semester must be taken in the language of specialization (French, German, or Spanish);
D. Enrollment in L 695 V, Independent Study, must be formally requested; signatures of adviser and Department Chair are required. Only in unusual cases will Foreign Languages and Literatures allow the student to apply more than 3 hours of L 695 V credit to the 32 hours required for the degree;
E. Program changes must be approved by the student's adviser;

Grades of Incomplete (I) must be cleared prior to oral exams.
