Graduate Study

Students may join the Organization of Graduate Student Writers, a student group committed to nurturing the writing community on campus through readings and career workshops. OGSW is a sponsor of the Three Voices Reading Series, a series dedicated to graduate student readings and the Creative Writing Program Visiting Writer Reading Series, as well as a participant in the 4 by 4 Reading Series.

Each year a number of visiting writers give readings, offer informal talks and conduct workshops with students. Recent visitors to campus include Lois-Ann Yamanaka, John Yau, Robin Becker, Eavan Boland, Alison Lurie, Donald Revell, Robert Antoni, Alison Hawthorne Deming, Kathleen Fraser, Robert Boswell, Antonya Nelson, Amitov Ghosh, Carole Maso, and Yusef Komunyakaa.
