Proposals need not take the form of a day-to-day syllabus. Rather, they should describe important characteristics of the proposed course, including the following:

Focus and area of study. Provide a brief description of the issues the course will address and the kinds of texts it will consider.

Audience. Indicate the relevance of the course to one or more of our graduate programs. If the proposed course might be useful to students in more than one graduate program, briefly indicate why.
