| SELECTING CANDIDATES FOR POSITIONS
- The State Board of Agriculture has delegated personnel
decisions to the President of the University. All department
personnel actions, including hiring, must conform to that
authority.
- The Chair shall be responsible for securing approvals
from the Dean and Academic Vice President for all positions
proposed by the Executive Committee.
- The Chair shall be responsible for following all affirmative
action procedures.
- Department Faculty delegate the responsibility of organizing
a search and reviewing files to a search committee but retain
full access to the credentials of all applicants.
- After a position description has been drafted and the
proposed position approved, the Executive Committee shall
form a search committee.
- The Search Committee's duties shall include:
- Evaluating the candidates.
- Selecting the finalists and participating in interviews.
- Recommending, with the Executive Committee, a final
order of candidates.
- The Chair shall be responsible for making the formal position
offer.
