Debby Thompson Associate
Professor. B.A., English (with Honors), University of Florida;
M.A. and Ph.D., English, Rice University.
Debby has previously taught as an Assistant professor in
the Department of Drama at the University of Alberta (Canada)
and the School of Theatre at Florida State University. She
has published articles in the areas of Race Theory, Performance
Studies, and Cultural Studies in Theatre Journal, MELUS, Post-Identity, Mosaic, College
Literature, African American Review, and several
book collections. She is currently completing a book entitled Casting
Suspicions, which explores configurations of race in
theatre in this era of post-identity politics. At CSU she
teaches in the area of Modern Drama. Additional areas of
interest and expertise include American literature, critical
theory, feminist/gender theory, queer theory, and post-colonial
theory.
