J. Edward Schamberger Emeritus Associate
Professor. B.S., Forestry, Colorado State University; M.A.,
English, University of Colorado; Ph.D., 19th-Century American
Literature, University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Schamberger taught introduction to
literature, American literature, and American authors. He
has published articles in American literature, of which
the most recent is a study of architectural images in The
Scarlet Letter. He has completed manuscripts for publication
on a source for Hawthorne's Hester Prynne. In 1990, 1992,
and 1994, he directed a National Endowment for the Humanities
interdisciplinary institute on the New England Renaissance,
1800-1860, offered to Colorado secondary teachers.
