William McBride
Emeritus Professor. B.S., Animal Science, Colorado
State University; M.A., English, University of Northern Colorado;
Ph.D., English, University of Nebraska.
Professor McBride taught composition, literature,
composition pedagogy and theory, adolescents' literature,
a major author (Charles Dickens) course, and methods of teaching
language arts. He is especially interested in young adult
literature and teacher education. He has co-authored a text,
Young Adult Literature: Background, Selection & Use,
and reviews young adult literature for Signal and
articles for English Journal and English Education.
He served on NCTE's Editorial Board, works with The College
Board, ETS, and NCTE on the English Pacesetter program, and
was active in teacher in-service programs throughout the state.
