Deanna Ludwin Deanna Kern Ludwin, Internship Coordinator, Senior Instructor. B.A., English, Creighton University; M.A. Literature and M.F.A. Creative Writing, Colorado State University.
Deanna Kern Ludwin coordinates internships for English majors, minors, and graduate students, and teaches literature and creative writing courses. She also serves on the advisory board of the Colorado Review. In 2003, Ludwin received a College of Liberal Arts Excellence in Teaching Award, and in 2006, she received a Best Teacher Award from CSU’s Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Connection. She is a two-time winner of the Golden Apple Award from the Organization of Graduate Student Writers.
Ludwin’s poems have appeared in Another Chicago Magazine, Diner, Gertrude, Green Mountains Review, Many Mountains Moving, Seattle Review, and other publications. Both her poetry and short short fiction have received honors and awards in several national contests, including the Jane Kenyon Poetry Prize (3rd prize, 2003) and theTupelo Press First Book Award (finalist, 2004). Also in 2004, Ludwin received a Stephanie White Memorial Award for a fellowship at the Mary Anderson Center for the Arts. Other grants include a Professional Development Grant from CSU for a writing project in Chile and an Arts Alive Fort Collins fellowship.
