Barbara Lakin Emeritus Associate

of Colorado, Boulder.
Professor Lakin taught undergraduate courses
including John Donne, Shakespeare, poetry from the Renaissance
through the 18th Century, and graduate gender and power
in Shakespeare and Lyric Poetry: Classical to Contemporary.
She is especially interested in new historicism, gender
and power, and the occult in English Renaissance literature.
She has published articles and given conference papers on
gender and power in Macbeth, Othello,
and The Merchant
of Venice, the influence of Giordano Bruno's thought
on several English Renaissance writers, and on the contemporary
British novelist, Graham Greene.
