Curriculum Vitae

Teaching Philosophy

My goal is to help students learn the "economic way" of understanding the economy around them so that they are able to make the best decisions possible with regard to their own individual well being and (through the ballot box or in public service) the well being of society. I believe it is essential that students actively practice the economic approach in problem sets, papers, and other course activities.

Research

Issues involving economic well-being at the household level including: the distribution of household income and wealth; determinants of household financial risk taking and determinants of household savings and pension coverage.
