Curriculum Vitae

Teaching Philosophy

Philosophy I believe teaching is a two-way street: as students learn in the classroom, the professor is learning with them. Students offer fresh and original perspectives on material that enrich the class from the standpoint of other students and the professor. I teach my students that learning never stops and that they play a very important role in my learning process. I support my belief in the two-way street by working with undergraduate and graduate students on a variety of different research projects. The students not only get a hands on opportunity to do original research but also come to see that any new research endeavor is a learning experience for the student and professor.

Research

My research has primarily centered around macroeconomic issues, however, my growing interest in time series analysis has provided me a new challenge. I have recently begun to apply time series techniques to agricultural, banking, economic development and international issues.
