The Department of Economics at Colorado State has an award-winning faculty (14 full-time faculty members) who divide their time among the areas of teaching, scholarship, advising and service. Six faculty members have won university-wide awards and three have received awards of recognition by national professional organizations. All faculty members are required to make scholarly contributions and advance knowledge in the discipline.
The faculty has published numerous academic journal articles, books, monographs, and contract and grant reports. These activities have enhanced the reputation of our Ph.D., M.A. and B.A. degree programs. However, the Department realizes that its existence depends upon students and that its success is strongly related to high quality teaching. The faculty feels that the Department has one of the top undergraduate teaching programs in economics of any Ph.D. granting department in the U.S.A. Finally, the Department is a friendly place. Faculty are ready and available to discuss issues outside of the classroom, and pride themselves on being good advisers to those students who have problems. The secretaries add greatly to this atmosphere and are always ready to assist students who have questions.
