Graduate Program


The M.S. graduate program in exercise and sport science has two areas of concentration. Students may concentrate in (1) Exercise Science or (2) Wellness Management. Students may also speialize in the Exercise and Nutrition Interdisciplinary Program, which is offered in conjunction with the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, and requires an additional admission process.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships

The Department of Exercise and Sport Science supports approximately 20-25 graduate teaching assistantships (GTA's), approximately half of which are awarded each year. The 9-month assistantship pays the student a monthly salary and covers both in-state and out-of-state tuition. GTA's are assigned to teach laboratory and/or activity classes.
