- Invest in Your Farm or Ranch! - Grand Junction, Colorado
- Dr. Ronald Hanson of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, will be speaking on "Continuing the Colorado Legacy of Family Farming & Ranching". Learn how to work effectively on your farm or ranch business, and improve communication between the generations.
- Workshop fee is approximately $30 per person which includes morning refreshments, lunch, afternoon snack and workshop materials. This workshop has been postponed until the early fall 2009. To be placed on the waiting list, please contact the Delta Extension Office at 970-874-2195.

- Western Colorado Building Farmers Program - Montrose, Colorado
- The Building Farmers program is a series of eight evening classes designed to help New Farmers explore farming as a business and provide Intermediate
and Experienced Farmers with tools and ideas to refine and enhance their business management, production, and marketing skills. Intermediate and Experienced farmers fuel the learning environment. Dinner provides time for socializing and networking. Sessions explore content useful to all levels of experience. New farmers learn in this community of farmer students and teachers. This program thrives with participation from farmers of all levels of experience. - Colorado State Seedling Tree Program - Tri River Area
- Low-cost seedling trees and shrubs are provided each year by the Colorado State Forest Service, for homeowners with two or more acres to use as windbreaks, revegetation, wildlife habitat, etc. The trees are not to be used for landscape purposes, nor can they be resold as living plants. Get your order in as soon as possible for the best selection. You can visit the Forest Service website at http://csfs.colostate.edu for information on the plants such as height and width, drought tolerance, recommended altitude range, wildlife value and so forth, to help you make your selections.

- Apprentice Master Gardener Program - Grand Junction, Colorado
- The 2010 Master Gardener Apprentice Program is a training program for individuals interested in gardening and community education. Trained Master Gardeners extend research-based information on gardening to the community.
- The cost of the program is $125, which includes the Tri River Area Master Gardener Manual, Fact Sheets and other publications and hand outs. The course is also available for those who do not choose to return 50 hours, for $425. (Costs subject to change.)
- Following training, Apprentice Master Gardeners return a minimum of 50 hours to Tri River Area Extension. They answer gardening questions by telephone at our area offices, research and diagnose plant problems, assist at clinics and workshops, maintain our demonstration gardens, and may participate in other Tri River Area Extension horticulture projects.
