Friends and Flowers Garden Club - Cedaredge, Eckert, and Delta
- “FRIENDS AND FLOWERS” Garden Club was founded in 1964 and consisted mainly of members from the Austin, Cory, and Eckert areas. Today, we have many members in Cedaredge as well. The ladies who formed this club shared a common interest in gardening, but also wanted to form a circle of friends for social purposes.
- Over the years, there has been an increasing endeavor to emphasize the gardening aspect, and several of our members are now Master Gardeners, with two more signed up for the 2009 class. We take an interest in not only our own gardens, but help with the gardens at Pioneer Town and also at Horizons Care Center. We do seed and plant exchanges among ourselves and participate in field trips to enhance our knowledge about all living things. The jewel of our club is Thelma Steele, who has been a member since 1984. We appreciate her knowledge and wisdom and, at 88 y/o, she is a role model for each of us.
- We meet at 1:30 on the 3rd Friday of each month at member homes on a rotating basis.
