This area is between the future site of the Amphitheater and the turfgrass/crabapple demonstration site. A walk will enter this area from the north-east corner.
Pete Mathes, Mesa County Department of Public Works graded and ripped this area after spreading more organic matter and soil. Sorry, no photographs are available.

Members of the Canyon View Vineyards Church assisted in preparing this area by picking rock (June 8, 2005)

Wayne Hopper and Matt spread more organic matter, ripped the area three ways, and then rototilled and floated the site.
Large quantities of organic matter was added and ripped and tilled into the soil to improve tilth.

After the final grade is complete, one of the three irrigation systems required for this area will be installed. The installation of the walks will require excavating down to unamended soil, compacting that soil, adding and compacting up to six inches of roadbase and the addition of the final layer of compacted crushed granite. The first portion of each entry into The Arboretum will be concrete.
