The Colorado State University Extension & Colorado State Forest Service Seedling Tree Program



We will be offering more ~FREE~ Informational Seedling Tree Programs in 2010 with Yvette Henson, CSU Extension Director and Casey Harrison, CS Forester presenting Shrub/Tree selection, planning, planting and care of seedlings this coming year. Contact us to be on our mailing list.

Seedling Tree Program

available in our office soon for 2009-2010 sales. For more information about the program, please click on the Webmaster below or call the Extension Office at
327-4393 and ask for Mary or Yvette.

Property owners of 2 acres in the San Miguel or West Montrose Counties area you are eligible to purchase seedling trees at a nominal price, call our office for a form to order trees. Deadline to order is approximately April 15, 2010.


The program's aim is to encourage all people to purchase trees and shrubs and create effective wind barriers to croplands, aid in erosion control from fires and drought conditions, promote wildlife habitat, and beautify their property.

e-mail the webmaster or sanmigue@ext.colostate.edu or maryw@sanmiguelcounty.org or call us at (970) 327-4393 at the Lone Cone building by the San Miguel County Fairgrounds. If you are in the area, you could also stop by our office at 1120 Summit Street in Norwood, Colorado . To check availability of seedling trees, call the Inventory hotline (970) 491-8278.

The Seedling Survival Supplies catalogs are also available in our office or you may contact the Colorado State Forest Service at the Montrose District. Their phone number is (970)249-9051.
