SWINE FLU UPDATE
COLORADO STATE UNVERSITY EXTENSION
Swine Flu Update As the situation continues to unfold worldwide, you will no doubt receive questions at county offices regarding the impact of swine flu in local areas. If you receive reporter inquiries that should be answered by a campus expert - whether in veterinary medicine , animal sciences or human impacts - please direct reporters to Dell Rae Moellenberg, Senior Community and Media Relations Coordinator in the CSU Office of Public Relations ( 970 ) 491-6009 direct line, ( 970 ) 204-6544 pager or e-mail DellRae.Mollenberg@colostate.edu . Dell Rae is developing a list of media contacts for this topic. She is also asking that reporters not be sent directly to an on-campus expert as some are not comfortable speaking with the media. Also note that Dell Rae will be available at all times - day or night - via her pager.
For updated information on swine flu, you can also direct reporters online to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention ( www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ ), the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment ( www.cdphe.state.co.us/epr/H1N1.html ), the Extension Disaster Education Network ( www.eden.lsu.edu/Issues_View.aspx?IssueID=D1B8635B-6B6A-4326-8BBF-FF6FCEC0EA5C ) or your county health department.
