Due to weather, 4-H District Retreat has been re-scheduled for April 16-18. This means we can take additional registrations. Money and forms are due by April 9, 5 p.m. to CSUCE. The cost is $115 per person – which includes 2 nights lodging, two breakfasts, two lunches and one dinner and all the activities. There is $850 budgeted that will be equally divided among youth attendees from Pueblo County.
If additional youth would like to run for District Offices, we can expand the nomination process. The county can nominate one person per District 7 office and one candidate per South Central District Office. We already have a candidate for District 7 President – but youth may run for District 7 V.P. or Secretary or South Central District President, VP/Treasurer or Secretary. Youth interested in running must submit parent permission form, a one page resume and paragraph of why they want to run for a district office to me by April 9. If there is more than one person interested in running for an office – we will have a special youth council officers meeting to make nominations if there is more than one person interested per office. Because of having to postpone Retreat – the exception will be made this year only – youth DO NOT need to be present to run for an office. If anyone nominated will not be able to attend Retreat – they will have to submit a poster, with a photo – in addition to the above mentioned resume and paragraph – to be used in the elections. Youth must be 14 as of Dec. 31, 2009 to run for an office. If you have questions about elections, please contact Vanessa.
With the change in schedule for weekend for District Retreat, I will no longer be able to attend –so we also need chaperones. Please let me know if you are interested. We need one male chaperone and one female chaperone and transportation for the kids to and from Retreat. Parent Leader Group will pay registration for two chaperones.
