Master Food Safety Advisors
Objectives:Master
food Safety Advisors serve to extend Extension’s education programs in
food safety and food preservation to adults and youth. The Master Food Safety
Advisor serves as a volunteer educator and resource person in the community
to provide the public with research-based information from Colorado State University
and USDA.
Recruitment:
January - March
Training: April and/or

4-H & Youth Development
Objectives: Develop
life skills for youth 5-18, through hands-on learning experiences
Recruitment: Year-round,
special emphasis in the fall
Training: 5 hours
minimum required, more available as an individual choice
Commitment: Child
Safety Act requires submission to a personal background check;
40 hours per year minimum,
some positions require more time
Cost:
Personal expenses such as transportation and supplies

Food and Nutrition Program
Objectives: Help low-income
individuals and families eat more nutritious foods while stretching
food resources
Recruitment:
All year
Training: Participate
in 8 to 10 one-hour lessons
