National 4-H Conference

Ready for Some Delegation?

What: This annual 4-H event is held at the National 4-H Center where delegates from each state meet to provide input to the National 4-H Program. Delegates will also visit their congressional leaders and strengthen their leadership and citizenship capabilities.

Who: 4-H members, 15-18 years old, who have leadership experience on the local, county, or state level

When: A week in late April

Where: National 4-H Center in Washington D.C.

Selection: Members must fill out applications and submit them to the Extension Office by the end of May. The 4-H agents have the applications judged and will submit the best two applications to the State 4-H Office. A State Selection Committee interviews the candidates during the Colorado State Fair and selects the six candidates who will represent Colorado at the conference.

Funding: The cost is covered by the Colorado State 4-H Youth Fund and the Larimer County 4-H Foundation. Members must sell their carnival tickets to receive support from the Foundation.
