Market Animal Rate of Gain Contest |

| Who's Gaining Now? What: Pounds gained per day are computed for all market beef, goat, and sheep entered exhibits. This is done by subtracting the animal's weigh day weight from the County Fair weight and dividing the difference by the number of days between the two events. Members are encouraged to feed their animals to have a high rate of gain, to use feed efficiently, and produce a good quality meat product. Who: All 4-H members involved in the market beef, goat, and sheep projects When: The rates of gain are calculated following the County Fair weigh-ins in July/August. Where: Larimer County Fairgrounds, Loveland, CO Awards: Awards are presented during the livestock shows. The top winner receives a special award and the 1st-10th placing members receive extra premium money. |
