Livestock and Horse Showmanship |

Do You Have What it Takes to Become a Master Showman? What: 4-H members are encouraged to develop their livestock grooming and showing skills through showmanship contests. In these classes, the members are judged on his or her ability to present the animal, not the animal's qualities. Who: All 4-H members involved in livestock and horse projects. Participants will be split into their designated age group. When: Showmanship classes are held during each livestock species and horse show during the Larimer County Fair in late July/early August. Where: Larimer County Fair, Loveland, CO Awards: The Champion and Reserve Champions in each age division receive special awards and the chance to compete in the Round Robin Showmanship Contest. Round Robin: The Champion and Reserve Champion Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Showmanship winners in the beef, dairy, goat, horse, sheep, and swine divisions each compete in the Round Robin Showmanship Contest, held the last Wednesday of the Larimer County Fair. The Champion and Reserve Champions of each age division win Master Showmen special awards. Entries: To enter the showmanship contest for your specie or species, you must designate so on your Larimer County Fair entry form. Late entries will be taken with a $25 charge. |
