Junior Leader Club

Are you ready to be a leader?

What: The Larimer County 4-H Junior Leader Club provides an opportunity for older 4-H youth to meet, exchange ideas, develop leadership skills, acquire social and organizational skills, and cooperate with the Extension Office in the planning and implementaton of county wide activities and events.

Who: 4-H members who are 13 years or older

When: Meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month, excluding August. The November/December meeting is the first Monday of December.

Officers: A President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, two Senators, and two Alternate Senators will be elected in October of each year

Activities: Larimer County Fair Dairy Bar, 4-H Carnival, Community Service, Achievement Night, Officer Training, Formal Night Out, Junior Leader Club Scholarships, and many more

Awards: One to three Junior Leaders will be selected for recognition in each category: Outstanding Junior Leadership Record Book, Outstanding Novice (First Year), Outstanding Local Club Leadership, Outstanding County Leadership, Outstanding Citizenship County/Local (Bob & Florence Greenwalt Memorial), Outstanding Overall Leadership or Excellent Achievement in Junior Leadership. These awards will be presented at Achievement Night in November.

Junior Leader Interviews
In order to be eligible to receive Junior Leadership awards at Achievement Night members must have:
1. Enrolled in the Junior Leadership project
2. Served on county-wide committees or taken major leadership roles in a 4-H club
3. Complete the Junior leadership record book
4. Completed a portfolio
5. Participated in an interview.

Each member enrolled in Junior Leadership has received a letter with the details for eligibility for awards. The interviews will be held on Wednesday, October 14 in the late afternoon or evening. For more information, contact Intern Brianna Sawyer at 498-6017.
