4-H members can join a local club, start a new club, or become family members (project work done as a family with no club affiliation). The clubs are usually located close to home and offer a wide variety of projects or focus on one project area.

Besides projects, 4-H offers many opportunities to interact
with other youth and adults. Some of the main county activities offered are:

    Leadership Development The 4-H program offers youth and adults many opportunities to develop leadership skills.
    Youth (14-18 years old)
  • Leadership Project gives 4-Hers a chance to help younger members with projects, assist adult leaders, and learn leadership skills.
  • Junior Leader Club provides older members an opportunity to learn leadership skills and socialize together. The group meets monthly and membership is open to all county 4-Hers 14-18 years old. They serve as Camp Counselors and organize the County Fair Dairy Bar and other county activities.
  • Adult (19 and over)

    Adult volunteers are a very important part of the 4-H program and provide assistance in the following areas:

  • Organizational Club Leaders work with members and leaders to organize the projects and activities of a 4-H club.
  • Project Leaders work with youth in a specific subject matter area to plan, build, and evaluate projects and learning experiences.
  • Activity Leaders help youth organize club and county activities.
  • Key Leaders share their subject matter or organizational skills with 4-H members and leaders on a county level.
