Programs

WHO GETS GRANDMA’S YELLOW PIE PLATE? or GRANDPA’S FISHING ROD?

This program will help you and your family members decide how to pass personal possessions (those which are non-titled property). Through the use of multi-media, attendees learn to recognize the sensitivity of the issue, determine what you want to accomplish and by when, decide what’s “fair” for your family, understand belongings have different meanings to different individuals, consider distribution options and consequences, and agree to manage conflicts if they arise. The program lasts 1to 1&1/2 hrs and attendees receive a packet of information to help make lists and plans.

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME This program helps to raise awareness of aids and devices that can be used by persons who need some assistance to perform the activities of daily living in their homes. The workshop includes a video presentation, exhibit and packet of information to adapt housing situations for those who need the changes. It is designed for older citizens who live independently; family members of older citizens; and persons with some disabilities and their family members. The program lasts 1 hr. and includes discussion.
