Cosmos "Cosmic Orange" |
A native of Mexico, 'Cosmic Orange' is an improved Cosmos sulphureus deserving a sunny site in your garden. It was bred in Germany and then tested in 33 AAS Judging locations across North America. 'Cosmic Orange' attains a height of about 12 inches in a full sun garden. The vigorous plants provide abundant, bright orange 2 inch blooms from early summer to frost.
Basically pest and disease free, 'Cosmic Orange' is adaptable and easy-to-grow. This is a "no fuss" annual that will thrive on minimal care. Only water, sun and fertile soil are needed for 'Cosmic Orange' to bloom its head off all summer and into the fall. Do not enrich the soil for Cosmos as it prefers well draining, less fertile soil for maximum bloom production.
'Cosmic Orange' performs well in containers and is recommended for companion planting. The overall performance can be improved with the removal of spent blooms, but it is not a requirement. Look for seeds in mail-order catalogs or plants in garden centers.
