When to Prune Forsythia |

Forsythia is a fast growing plant that prefers full sun to partially shaded growing conditions. You need to prune right after flowering. To encourage formation of vigorous new shoots, take out the old branches down to the soil level. These new shoots will form flower buds later in the same season and will bloom next spring.
