Fairy Ring is a commonly occuring lawn fungus. The causal fungi decompose organic material such as thatch, dead tree roots, or buried construction debris. Control Core aerate; plugs should be closely spaced (no more than 4"). Areas of lighter green grass can be lightly fertilized with nitrogen to mask the darker green areas. Fungicides are not effective. Photograph courtesy of Judy Sedbrook. |
