Fairy Ring is a commonly occuring lawn fungus. The causal fungi decompose organic material such as thatch, dead tree roots, or buried construction debris.
Core aerate; plugs should be closely spaced (no more than 4"). Areas of lighter green grass can be lightly fertilized with nitrogen to mask the darker green areas. Fungicides are not effective.
