In 1992-93, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education designated the Center for Research on Writing and Communication Technologies as a Program of Excellence and awarded the Center a $250,000, five year enhancement award. .
That funding-- along with additional funding from Colorado State University, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Departments of English and Journalism and Technical Communication--enabled the development of Colorado State University's Online Writing Center. The projected developed World Wide Web-based multimedia to enhance communication across the curriculum for courses in agricultural, composition, education, engineering, honors program, journalism & and technical communication, microbiology, physics, speech, and women's studies.
