MicroMeasure and Internet Explorer

The MicroMeasure Support Site is designed to be generally compatible with modern standards-based web browsers. In order to work within the constraints imposed by time and limited financial support for continued development, we have chosen to concentrate our development efforts for Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. In order to implement the complete functionality we desired for the site, some features are available only to users of Internet Explorer.

Several factors contributed to our decision to support primarily Microsoft Internet Explorer rather than Netscape Navigator:

For the user:

  • Broad availability and free distribution
  • Continuing increase in numbers of IE users
  • Greater overall stability of IE, particularly when viewing web pages with dynamic HTML and sophisticated scripting
  • More frequent release of upgrades
For the developer:
  • More intuitive implementation of scripting capabilities
  • Superior support for cascading style sheets and dynamic HTML
We hope that we will be able to offer broader browser support in the future, and we plan to continue to evaluate new releases of major browsers as they become available.
