There are a variety of chromosome structures and landmarks in which researchers might have an interest. Examples of such features are fluorescent foci, secondary constrictions, chromosome bands, and asynapsed regions. MicroMeasure allows users to customize the types of features for which measurement data are collected. This customization is achieved largely through the creation and use of points lists.

Since it is likely that users will wish to perform similar analyses on multiple images, MM allows users to save points lists (using the Save Points File command) and then reuse them in any number of projects.

The Open Points File... command is used to apply an existing points list to a project that previously did not make use of such a list.
