Ram Battalion Trains Hard at Super Lab Pictured above Cadet Green conducts an EPW seach on Cadet Loban at the MS I and II portion of Super Lab Photo by: Collegian Photographer Katie Stevens On Saturday 8 March 2008, the Ram Battalion had its annual Super Lab. Super Lab is an intensive training event where MS I and II cadets receive training in basic soldiering skills, and MS III cadets conduct Situational Training Exercises (STX). Part of the MS I and II training included how to throw hand grenades properly and set up claymore mines. They also learned the basics of defensive operations, call for fire, and actions on the objective of an ambush, reconnaissance, and how to destroy a bunker. Meanwhile, the MS III cadets trained at Hughes Stadium and conducted STX lanes. The MS IIIs are preparing for the Leadership Development Assessment Course (LDAC) that they will attend this summer at Ft. Lewis, Washington. STX lanes are a large part of the training that they will receive at LDAC, and the MS IIIs had a chance to conduct complete missions at Super Lab. In addition to preparing the MS IIIs for LDAC, the STX lanes that the they conducted during Super Lab also prepared them for the upcoming Spring Field Training Exercise (FTX). Be sure to look at the article from the Collegian Newspaper.
