Major Thomas Medland is currently assigned as Recruiting Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and teaches AS101 at both Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to assuming his current duties, Major Medland served as the Program Manager for the Space Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding Ground Operating Equipment Increment One Cryptographic Development Program within the Cryptologic Systems Division (CPSD) Space COMSEC Branch. In this position, Captain Medland was responsible for the cost, schedule, and performance aspects of the development and production of the KS-252 encryption device for use in NASA and Department of Defense Satellite Operations Centers, a $54M ACAT III program.
Major Medland earned his commission from Officer Training School in 2002.
