Captian Donald S. Horne
Capt Donnie Horne is currently assigned as the Operations Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and teaches AS101 at both Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to his current assignment, Capt Horne served as the Executive Officer for the 7th Mission Support Group, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. In this position, Capt Horne served Dyess AFB by overseeing processes in support of over 1300 Airmen, $69M budget, 1,103 facilities on 7,013 acres of land, 1820 military housing units and a 437-vehicle fleet worth $40.8M. By trade, Capt Horne is a Logistics Readiness Officer (LRO). As an LRO, Capt Horne served as the Materiel Management, Distribution and Vehicle Management Flight Commander, overall leading over 520 Airmen. Additionally, he commanded the War Support Flight for the Joint Logistics Tasks Force 6 and 7 during long haul convoy operations in Iraq, traveling over 1.2K miles delivering 2.3K tons of cargo in support of the largest retrograde since WWII.
Capt Horne received his commission through the University of Southern Mississippi AFROTC.
