CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE FUND

The Bohemian Foundation and the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado are proud to announce a renewed commitment to the Childcare Assistance Fund. This fund was established in 2003 in response to the drastic cuts in state childcare assistance funds and the need of families who are actively pursuing educational advancement. The goal of the fund is to provide single-parent families with the means to pay for quality childcare, enabling single parents to pursue career advancing educational opportunities.

The Selection Committee is looking for applicants who are dedicated to educational advancement that will provide a living wage upon completion.

Kudos to Andrea Forntney

Andrea Fortney, one of our Peer Counselors, took time off last semester to join a Red Cross aid effort in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina. Vic Hencken, the Disaster Committee Chairman for the American Red Cross Centennial District has this to say: "Andrea and the other 155 north Coloradoans, who took weeks away from family and career, have made an enormous gift of talent and kindness. We applaud their willingness to come forward and support the American Red Cross so we could offer the necessary food, shelter, and comfort to our neighbors in the Gulf Cost." Thanks again, Andrea, for lending a hand to those in need.
