Depending on available funding, the Center offers
research assistantships, student hourly positions, and work-study jobs support
to qualified graduate students.
The Center serves as a state-of-the-art teaching
lab for graduate and undergraduate music therapy students during their training
in Neurologic Music Therapy. The Center also offers its lab resources to
support graduate thesis and dissertation research in music therapy and other
departments. Placements to graduate students as part of the lab rotations in
the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Neuroscience Program and Biomedical
Engineering Program are also available.
Graduate
Studies in Neurologic Music Therapy
Colorado State University offers an in-residence
Master’s and Master’s equivalency program (for those with degrees in other
music emphasis such as education, performance, etc). In addition, an online Master’s is available for
board-certified clinicians (MT-BC). The
degree is designed to make the graduate degree more feasible for the working
clinician or other individuals interested in obtaining an advanced degree in a
reasonable amount of time. The Master of
Music in Music Therapy degree from CSU will advance your knowledge of NMT
theory and practice and expand your skills and knowledge to use music within a
therapeutic relationship to address physical, psychological, cognitive and
social needs of individuals. Students
gain knowledge of neurological sciences, music, research and evidence-based
practice to expand the depth and breadth of their clinical skills in advanced
