Thank you for your interest in the Adams County 4-H program!

4-H is an informal youth education program of Colorado State University Extension. The mission of 4-H is to help children grow into healthy, productive, successful adults. This mission is accomplished through involvement of parents, volunteer leaders, and other adults who organize and conduct educational experiences in community and family settings.

The 4-H Club

Adams County 4-H is based on a club system. This means that when you join 4-H in Adams County you are joining one of our 4-H clubs. Clubs are made up of youth (4-H members) and adults, who serve as leaders. Clubs usually meet on a monthly basis, but some meet twice a month. The club is an opportunity for you to meet other 4-H members. When choosing a 4-H club it is important to make sure that the club meets the needs of your family -- in terms of the day and time of the meetings, the club atmosphere, club requirements, etc. You want to make sure the club is a great fit for your family and that you feel welcome.

4-H is a learning and fun program for youth ages 5-18. It will provide youth with the opportunity to explore a variety of programs that teach them effective use of leisure time. There are over 60 different projects divided into more than 225 divisions. These divisions range from arts and crafts, photography, model rocketry, foods, clothing, gardening, wildlife, woodworking, to dog obedience, small animals, horses and livestock.

The 4-H program is offered at a very nominal fee ($40.00/Member) by Colorado State University Extension in Adams County.
