Cats and Easter Lilies Don't Mix |
The use of Easter lilies as gifts at this time of year is a popular practice. Before purchasing an Easter lily for your home or as a gift for someone else this year, be aware that these beautiful plants and cats don't mix.
As those of us with pets know, they are often prone to nibbling on the leaves of houseplants and flower arrangements. In the case of cats and Easter lilies, this can prove fatal.
According to the ASPCA National Poison Control Center, renal failure and death may result when cats ingest the foliage of an Easter lily.
