Alumni Scholarship
Established in 1998, the Economics Alumni Scholarship is made
possible by contributions from alumni, faculty, and staff members.
Criteria: The selection is made from all admitted
freshmen as of April 1st preceding the start of the academic year,
who declare an interest in economics and is based on the academic
qualifications stated in the CSU admission application. This scholarship
is renewable, with application, for up to 3 additional years, conditional
on performance.

Ed
A. Hewett Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1993, this scholarship honors the memory of Ed
A. Hewett, a distinguished 1964 alumnus who served as Special Assistant
to President George H. Bush and Senior Director of Soviet Affairs
at the National Security Council from 1991 to 1993. It is made
possible by contributions from friends, faculty, staff, alumni,
and the Hewett family.
Criteria: Applicant must be a junior majoring
in Economics with a 3.0 GPA and must submit a 1000-word essay on
applications of economic Principals to “real world” issues. Preference
given to students with a demonstrated interest in global affairs,
especially in the economic transformation of the centrally planned
economies.

Alok Mehta Scholarship

Outstanding
Economics Undergraduate Award
The award is given annually to a senior majoring in Economics.
Criteria: Recipient must possess a record of outstanding
academic achievement plus evidence of high personal accomplishment
and aspirations.
